Snapshots of successful puzzle-solving

Client Puzzle:
Large state agency wanted to help leaders, many of whom are promoted from the ranks, become more effective managers and supervisors.  Wanted leaders to understand their new responsibilities, both to employees and the organization.  Wanted them to be able to build good teams and effectively communicate with a wide variety of people.
Respect Inc. Solution:
On the heels of an organization-wide diversity effort, designed several training courses for supervisors and managers that build on appreciation of differences and focus on good communications.  Through dialog, self-assessment and role plays, helped leaders handle tough situations with fairness and clarity.  Respect continues to facilitate these on-going courses, often with a client partner.
Client Puzzle:
Small manufacturing firm needed to upgrade supervisory skills, but needed training flexibility to accommodate a hectic production schedule.
Respect Inc. Solution:
Respect Inc. designed and facilitated supervisory skills modules that were presented during late afternoon and evening hours over the course of several months.  This approach not only accommodated schedule, but demonstrated that learning is a process and gave attendees a chance to practice new skills and then discuss their results in class.
Client Puzzle:
Forward-thinking Research VP wanted to equip his leaders with the skills necessary to grow the organization, both in terms of people managed and projects completed.
Respect Inc. Solution:
Respect Inc. used behavior style technology and one to one coaching to help leaders achieve their potential.  Helped them think about communications in new, more effective ways so that goals and tasks are clearer and conflict reduced.  These leaders, as a group, also worked to become a high performing team in and of themselves, so that creativity and cooperation are enhanced and the function speaks with one voice within the organization.
